Discover How to Make the Most of Spotify

Spotify provides user-friendly features that make listening to music effortless. However, you can unlock an even better experience by taking advantage of some of its hidden features and best practices. From organizing your library to setting up smart playlists, these tips and tricks will help you get the most out of your Spotify subscription and turn every listening experience into one to remember.

Tip #1: Take Advantage of the “Radio” Feature

Spotify’s Radio feature is one of the most overlooked secrets. This feature allows you to select any song and create a personalized radio station based on that selection. You can easily find the Radio feature by clicking the Radio icon at the top of your home screen or launch it directly when you click on a song title. Once you’ve chosen a song that you want to create a Radio station for, click the green button next to the song and then click Create Station.

Tip #2: Create Playlists Easily With Smart Playlists

Spotify’s Smart Playlists feature gives you the ability to create and organize playlists with the best songs from your personal library. To use the Smart Playlists feature, go to the Libary tab on your main music screen and select the Smart Playlist option. From here, you can choose which Smart Playlist you want to create, and then enter criteria to personalize the playlist for your own music tastes.

Tip #3: Customize Your Home Screen

Your Spotify home screen is your go-to for quickly accessing your favorite playlists and new music. To customize it to suit your individual needs, select the Settings icon from the list of options on the left-hand side of the screen. From here, you can toggle the various settings on and off to either hide or show the different tabs.

Tip #4: Automatically Mute Loud Tracks

If you have sensitive ears or just don’t want to be startled by loud music, Spotify has a feature that automatically reduces the volume of any particularly loud song. This feature is great for listeners who want to stay at a comfortable listening level regardless of what song is playing. To enable this feature, select the Settings icon and then toggle the Loudness Normalization setting on.

Tip #5: Use the Equalizer

Spotify provides users with the ability to customize their sound according to their individual listening preferences. To do this, select the Settings icon and then scroll down to the Equalizer option. From here, you can easily adjust the various audio frequencies to customize the sound of your music.

Tip #6: Connect Your Alexa to Your Spotify

If you have an Amazon Echo device or any other Alexa-enabled device, you can easily link it to your Spotify account. This allows you to play music from Spotify without having to launch the app or search for it. To link your Alexa-enabled device to Spotify, go to the menu within the Alexa app, select Music & Media and then link your Spotify account.

Tip #7: Connect Your Spotify Account to Other Services

Spotify makes it easy to connect your accounts with third-party services such as Google Maps and Apple Music. To connect your account, go to the Settings page, select the Service Connections tab and connect your accounts from there. Once connected, you can access your music from any platform and customize and personalize your listening experience even more.

Tip #8: Enable Offline Mode

Spotify’s Offline Mode allows you to listen to music even when you’re not connected to the internet. To enable Offline Mode, go to the Settings page and activate the toggle switch for the Offline Mode option. You’ll need to have signed up for a Premium subscription to access this feature.

Tip #9: Turn on Autoplay

Spotify’s Autoplay feature is a great way to keep music playing uninterrupted without having to manually search and hit play every time. To enable Autoplay, select the Settings icon and toggle the Autoplay switch to On. This will ensure that your music keeps playing even when you reach the end of a playlist.

Tip #10: Share Your Music With Others

Spotify makes it easy to share music with friends, family and anyone else who might need a dose of your favorite tunes. To do this, select the Share button and then choose whether you want to share the song, artist or playlist with someone. You can also select the Social option to create a shareable link that you can post on your social media accounts.
