Throughout the election season, President Donald Trump has frequently used aggressive language and called for protests. From rallying his supporters to chanting for his opponents to be locked up to calling for a “massive protest” against mail-in voting, Donald Trump has not shied away from the idea of protests. But why is it that Trump’s repeated calls for protests have not been successful?

Trump’s Message: Aggressive and Unclear

In rallies and speeches, Trump often uses very aggressive language when speaking of protests. Trump consistently calls on his supporters to “fight hard” and “stand strong” in the face of adversity. While Trump may be attempting to motivate his supporters with strong words, this aggressive language often comes across as confrontational to those on the receiving end. It also sends a message that the protests are motivated by anger and could lead to violence.

Trump’s calls for protests are also often unclear and lack detail. For instance, President Trump called for a “massive protest” against mail-in voting but failed to provide any specific details about the protest or what his followers should do. This lack of clarity results in a lack of organization and unproductive protests.

Lack of Motivation and Incentive

Even with aggressive language and a potentially broad call to action, the lack of motivation and incentive can prevent protests from taking place. In order for protests to be successful, there should be a clear goal or outcome in sight. President Trump often fails to provide that for his followers. Without an ultimate goal or rewards for participating in a protest, his supporters have little motivation to take part.

The lack of tangible benefit also hurts Trump’s call for protests. Trump doesn’t offer any incentives to actually participate in the protests, such as free food or transportation or even donations to those who attend. Lack of incentives not only decreases motivation but also leaves those who participate to the whims of whatever outcome comes out of the protest.

Organization, Preparation, and Awareness

Organization is key in order to successfully carry out a protest. President Trump often fails to give sufficient instruction to allow his supporters to effectively organize their protests. For instance, in order to ensure safety and effectiveness, protesters need to be aware of the time, location, and route of the protest. Without this information, it can be difficult for people to show up and be effective.

It is also important to be prepared for a protest. Protesters need to have an idea of the potential risks involved and a strategy for handling any unforeseen events that may arise. By failing to provide this information, Trump leaves his supporters unprepared and unable to respond to any countermeasures activists or police may take.

Finally, President Trump often fails to provide any information about how his supporters can spread awareness or even gain media attention. Without the proper awareness of the protest, it can be difficult for President Trump’s supporters to attract attention and for the protest to have a lasting impact.

President Trump’s calls for protests have failed to be successful due to several factors. The use of aggressive language, lack of motivation and incentive, lack of clarity and organization, and a failure to create awareness are all factors that have led to the failure of Trump’s protests. By addressing these issues and offering more information and support, President Trump could have a better chance of making his protests successful.
